HIGHLIGHTS

ANTOFAGASTA (December 17 – 20)

Known as The Pearl of the North, a busy port city in Northern Chile: “Where the desert ends into the sea” is the most frequent description people give of this beautiful and fascinating city. A major landmark is La Portada, a beautiful arch of natural rock standing out from the ocean

Performance Highlights:

  • A performance at “The Ruins of Huanchaca” (former site for silver melting) for an audience of 12,000! and a performance of Ceremony of Carols at the Cathedral of St. Joseph

Sight “Singing” Highlights:

  • Plaza Colon & Torre Reloj (Town Square with a replica of Big Ben!)
  • Central Market, a typical South American market, for tourists as well as locals!

CALAMA (December 20 – 21)

Known as “the land of sun and copper,” this northern city in the Atacama Desert is one of the driest cities in the world.

Performance Highlights:

  • Concert at San Pedro Church, located in the small village of San Pedro de Atacama, the archaeological capital of Chile.

Sight “Singing” Highlights:

PUNTA ARENAS (December 22 – 27)

On our first tour to Chile, this was everyone’s favorite stop.  The hospitality of the Georges Sharp Foundation, our host then and on the upcoming trip, was truly special.  Punta Arenas is located at the edge of the Straits of Magellan at the southern-most point of Chile.  We’ll perform on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and enjoy a lamb roast!

Performance Highlights:

December 24th:

  • Plaza de Armas concert at noon
  • Midnight Mass @ Cathedral of Punta Arenas
  • December 25th: Tierra Del Fuego

Sight “Singing” Highlights:

FRUTILLAR  (December 27 – December 30)

Known as the City of Music!  Need we say more???

Performance Highlights

  • Another favorite stop on our first tour to Chile.  The incredible Teatro del Lago is considered one of the finest venues in all of South America.  On our first trip, only the smaller theatre was built. (think Perelman Theatre) We gave a command performance for a sold out audience of 270.  This time we’ll christen the larger venue which seats 1,178.  Think Verizon Hall!

Sight “Singing” Highlights:

  • The theatre has a view of Lake Llanquihue and the beloved Chilean Volcano Osorno, but the day we were there the Volcano hid behind clouds.  No one believed the locals that there was a Volcano there. Hopefully this time, the sun will shine on Osorno and KSB.

VILLARICCA (December 30 – 31)

We will be ringing in the New Year in Villaricca, with an informal sing during NYE festivities!

Sight “Singing” Highlights

CUZCO (January 1 – 4)

Sight “Singing” & Performance Highlights

  • Machu Picchu!  One of the 7 Wonders of the World! Need we say more?  We have been granted permission to sing (informally for ourselves and tourists).  This is normally not permitted.  We will be the first.  Another history-making KSB performance!!
